San Jose tied the game in the final minute of the opening frame when Joe Thornton threw a shot on net from the top of the left circle that was stopped, but Pavelski was in front to wrap in the rebound with 26.5 seconds showing.

 

The Sharks again had an answer as a sharp pass from the right point by Justin Braun went to the left circle where McGinn roofed it over the glove of Hiller at the 7:13 mark.

 

However, Anaheim took a 3-2 lead into the third period when Cogliano's simple wrister from the top of the left circle fooled Niemi low to the glove side with 7:14 left in the second.
