08/13/2010 - Sandy, UT (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Columbus Crew travel to take on Real Salt Lake in the second Major League Soccer meeting between the two clubs this season.
The Crew earned a 1-0 victory over the defending champs on April 24 at Crew Stadium. Since that time, however, RSL has lost just one game and positioned itself solidly in second in the Western table behind league-leaders Los Angeles.
RSL is coming off a 1-1 draw with the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday in which it rested a number of starters in anticipation of its busy upcoming schedule.
Now, three days later the champs aim to extend their home unbeaten run to 21 games when they takes on an Eastern-table-leading Crew side that has won three of its last four league fixtures.
Coincidentally, the MLS record unbeaten run at home is 22 games, set by the Crew from June 2008 to Sept. 2009.
Columbus (11-4-4) is coming off a 2-1 win over the Union on Aug. 5, so it should have considerably more in energy bank than the home side.
The Crew will be without influential winger Robbie Rogers for some time, however, after he was scheduled to have surgery on his knee.
Two key members of the back line are also battling knee injuries, in center back Chad Marshall and left back Gino Padula. Marshall is expected to be available on Saturday, however, Padula is not.
"My knee is pretty bad," Marshall told mlssoccer.com after his team's win at Philadelphia. "I need to take the time to see if it gets any better or if I need to get it scoped when I get back from these four days off. That's why I wanted to take the break and see whats going on with the knee because starting soon we pretty much have Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday the rest of the way."
One player who will be full strength for the Crew is forward Steven Lenhart, who has scored the last three Columbus goals over the last two games. Stopping him will be key to RSL's chances of extending its streak.
Out for the Crew because of injury along with Rogers and Padula will be midfielder Eddie Gaven. Marshall is officially listed as questionable, while midfielder Adam Moffat is probable.
RSL (10-4-6) is relatively healthy, with forward Pablo Campos and defender Chris Schuler both carrying knocks, but expected to be available Saturday.

MySportsbook.com: NBA Championship Odds
With the playoffs about two months away, the top two teams in the Western Conference are the clear cut leaders to win the NBA Championship. The Dallas Mavericks have the best record in the NBA (44-9) and have been absolutely scorching since the second week of the season. What makes the Mavs’ record more impressive is the fact that they dropped their first four games of the season. Currently they have won 17 out of their last 18 and are MySportsbook.com’s favorite (2-1) to win it all. Right behind the Mavs are the Pacific leading Phoenix Suns (39-13). Last season, the Suns lost in the Conference Finals to non-other then the Mavericks four games to two. Of course the Suns were without center Amare Stoudemire who has is averaging 19.9 PPG and 9.5 RPG since coming back from his knee injury. Unlike the Mavs, the Suns have struggled a bit lately having lost their last three and four out of their last seven. Of course the main reason for their three straight loses is due to the absence of two time MVP Steve Nash, who is out with a shoulder injury. Heads-up, the Mavs have beaten the Suns in both of their meetings this season.
In the Eastern Conference, the Pistons (32-19) are the favorites to win it all at 6-1. The addition of Chris Webber seems to have been a good move for the Pistons. Since coming over from the 76ers, Webber has averaged 13.1 PPG and 7.3 RPG and the Pistons are 11-4. Even though the defending champion Heat are currently on the playoff making cusp, they are the Eastern Conference team that is getting the most action to win it all (9-1). The fact that Shaquille O’Neal is back in the starting lineup after missing 39 games probably has something to do with this. No doubt, Shaq makes a difference when in the lineup as their winning six out of their last seven would indicate.
